Mr. Sriram Iyer  

Mr. Sriram H. Iyer is Chair of ICICI Bank Canada's Board of Directors and is a member of the Bank’s Board Governance & Remuneration Committee

Mr. Iyer leads the International Banking Group of the Parent Bank, ICICI Bank Limited. As part of this role, he is responsible for all of the Bank’s international operations. He also spearheads the Global Remittances and NRI business of the Bank and is a board member of ICICI Bank UK PLC, one of ICICI Bank Limited’s wholly-owned subsidiaries.

Mr. Iyer joined ICICI Bank in India in 1996 and has since held a number of key management positions. He was a core member of the executive team that established ICICI Bank in Canada in 2003 and served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank Canada between April 2008 and July 2019. Under his leadership, the Bank achieved significant growth in both asset base and profitability.

During his tenure with ICICI Bank Canada, Mr. Iyer actively supported a number of business and not-for-profit organizations and served on several boards including Toronto Global and Conference Board of Canada. In 2008, he was named to Canada’s Top 40 Under 40TM, a program that celebrates Canadians who have reached significant success before the age of 40 in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. In 2012, Mr. Iyer received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce named him Corporate Executive of the Year.

Mr. Iyer holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He is also a certified corporate director and has completed the Directors Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
