Ms. Rita Achrekar
Ms. Rita Achrekar is a member of ICICI Bank Canada's Board of Directors, and is Chair of the Risk Committee as well as a member of the Audit Committee. She is a corporate director and a former banking executive with expertise in global capital markets, risk management, governance and business transformation.
She is an Executive in Residence at the Global Risk Institute in Toronto and a board member of Farm Credit Canada and Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF). Earlier, she served on boards of Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) and Scotia Commodities Inc.
Previously, Ms. Achrekar was a senior executive at Scotiabank in Toronto and held global leadership roles in market risk management, corporate credit, and compliance transformation. Prior to joining Scotiabank, she held treasury and trading roles with American Express Bank and ING Bank in Mumbai, India.
Ms. Achrekar holds ICD.D (Rotman School, University of Toronto), and has completed Advanced Management Program at Wharton Business School; MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute, Mumbai University; and Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
